Rihanna, Kanye West and OK Go compete on MyYouTube

Acts including Rihanna, Kanye West, Maroon 5, Shakira, Soulja Boy, OK Go and Justin Bieber and have signed up to MyYouTube, a new online video promotion to see who can garner the most fans.

Over 50 acts so far will compete to get the most fans to sign up to their official YouTube channel. The competition will run until February 5, with prizes being offering to incentivise fans to sign up and push it via their Twitter and Facebook pages.

Earlier this week, Viacom announced that it would appeal the decision that cleared YouTube of contributory infringement in June. Viacom launched its $1bn (£0.6bn) suit against the Google-owned YouTube in 2007.
