Kanye West Releases a Christmas Song: Listen to “Christmas in Harlem” – The Atlantic (blog)

The Kanye West redemption train is chugging along, next stop: North Pole. Less than a month after releasing a critically acclaimed, image-rehabilitating new album, a new track by West has leaked…a Christmas song. “Christmas in Harlem,” save for an innuendo involving hot chocolate, is actually a quite warm, joyous ode to the holidays:

“”It’s 40 below the windchill/And we’re wiping snow off the windshield/But still, wonderful night to be alive, baby/And I’m so happy to be with my baby.”

Here’s a video that contains audio of the track:

Following his apologetically self-aware performance at the VMAs, strong musical guest stint at Saturday Night Live, and even an appearance at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, it appears that Kanye is serious about being viewed in a different, more pleasant light.
