'Glee': Charice beats Justin Bieber, Kanye West in Billboard album poll – Examiner.com

Recently, a number of Billboard readers all got together to pick out their favorite albums of 2010 for their annual poll. The end results carried more than a few surprises — some of which proving that diehard fan support can go a long way.

Here are all of the choice along with a bit of analysis:

1. David Archuleta – With “the Other Side of Down,” “Archie” proved that he has a number of fans who will come out for him in spades. Sales-wise, the album doesn’t come close to many on this list.

2. Eminem – “Recovery” received more Grammy nominations than any other album, so it only seems right to see the rapper high on this list.

3. Lady Antebellum – “Need You Now” turned this group into a global phenomenon — now, they just have to see if they can keep it up.

4. Taylor Swift – Just how popular is “Speak Now?” The album sold over a million copies in its first week alone.

5. JYJ – This South Korean boy band is still largely unknown in America.

6. Katy Perry – With “Teenage Dream, “California Gurls,” and a wedding, Katy had a year unlike any other in 2010.

7. Charice – She’s still a rising star in America, but “Glee” helped this Filipina take the next step.

8. Justin Bieber – Bieber fans must not have heard about this poll — otherwise, his “My World 2.0” would have been higher.

9. Ke$ha – She was the biggest snub of the Grammys this year, since she has four #1 songs to her name already in the span of a year.

10. Kanye West – Kanye may only be at #10 here, but Rolling Stone gave him their coveted “Album of the Year” honors for “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.”
